In her early days, Tina Basich worked as an artist and designer. She started designing from her first pro model with Kemper and then the artwork for other models. She also designed the first women’s outerwear line and is well known for the first women’s pro-models for SIMS Snowboards.
Tina Basich began snowboarding in 1986 when the sport was still new. She has been part of and even won various competitions since the 1980s. After breaking the leg in 1999, Tins thought of taking a rest. She has been snowboarding for the past 15 years. And then Tina began hosting GKA for FUEL TV, a girl’s action sports TV show. Further, she did reporting for NBC and continued to snowboard, but mostly in the backcountry with powder landings.
The snowboarder is also the co-founder of the nonprofit foundation, Boarding for Breast Cancer. She has also penned the book Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer. It is the autobiography of her snowboarding career.
Furthermore, Tina Basich opened a gift shop called My Favorite Things in 2005. The shop has various handmade gifts and other artistic treasures. Moreover, they have also launched Glitter Girl Studio behind their shop. She was inspired to open the shop from her mother’s work. She has then worked at over 30 different factories in China creating Home Decor and Christmas/Halloween items with an endless supply of materials like metal, glass, resin, wood, textiles, etc.
