Roger Penrose is a British mathematician, and physicist, who writes philosophy on science.

He is a Nobel Laureate of Science in Physics in 2020.

Penrose is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford, who is still working after retirement.

Roger Penrose belongs to a family of scholars, he is the son of Margaret (Leathes) and Lionel Penrose. His mother is a psychiatrist and his father is a geneticist by work.

Talking about his grandparents, his paternal grandparents were J. Doyle Penrose(Irish-born artist) and The Hon. Elizabeth Josephine Peckover.

Furthermore, his maternal grandparents were physiologist, John Beresford Leathes and  Sonia Marie Natanson.

After his Ph.D. in 1957, Roger Penrose had temporary posts at several universities in both England and the United States.

In 2005, Roger Penrose was appreciated as an honorary doctorate from Warsaw University.
