Car Accident
After her stint on The Real World ended while filming the show’s fifth season (set in Miami), Campos was involved in a head-on car collision after an oncoming vehicle’s driver slept on the wheel.
In the crash, Campos’ boyfriend and his friend, who was driving their rented car, died on the spot. Rachel was thrown out of the passenger side window and suffered severe injuries to her leg that caused permanent long-term problems such as arthritis, limpness, and difficulties in running.
