After registering six tackles and a sack against Michigan State, he was awarded Team Defensive Lineman of the Game. With the 177th overall pick, Danna was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Danna had his first career sack in the Week 2 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, 23–20. Additionally, Michael won his second straight Super Bowl in 2023 when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. In the game, Danna recorded three tackles.
