Janet Langhart was born as Janet Leola Langhart on December 22, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the USA. She is the daughter of Mary Bridges and Sewell Bridges. She is American by nationality and belongs to mixed ethnicity.
As a child, Janet lived with her mother in an Indianapolis Housing Project. Her mother used to work as a maid and hospital ward secretary.
