Salie was born on April 14, 1971( currently 51) in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. She was born as the youngest amongst three siblings to parents Robert Salie and Gail Coley Salie.

She grew up in n Dunwoody, Georgia. Her siblings are brother Doug (eldest)and David Salie. She loved to dance and perform as a child and thus decided to become an actor.

Faith Salie first got a role in her fourth-grade school play which solidified her ambition to become an actor. She gradually started to participate in school plays and theatres.

Faith Salie first appeared in the film The Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All, playing the rival to Diane Lane’s character. She went on to appear in small roles on Sweet Valley High and Marriedwith Children before being cast on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

 In 2004, Salie starred in Bravo improvisational situation comedy “Significant Others” including other television sitcoms and dramas like “Sex and the City” and “Unhappily Ever After“. She made several appearances on VH-1 shows including “Best Week Ever, I Love the…90s”, and “Undateable” as a stand-up comedian and “pop-culture pundit,”.

In 2006, she hosted the Public Radio International show “Fair Game from PRI with Faith Salie”. Salie hosted the series Treehugger TV for Planet Green and was a panelist on BBC America’s “Would You… Rather? “with Graham Norton.

From 2008 to 2010, Faith Salie hosted the Sundance Channel’s coverage of the Sundance Film Festival. Salie has been a contributor to CBS News Sunday Morning since 2009. She is the author of the book, “Approval Junkie: Adventures in Caring Too Much”. It was published on April 19, 2016.
