Richard Ramirez’s first charge of state appeals ended unsuccessfully when the California Supreme Court upheld his convictions and death sentence on August 7, 2006. Moreover, the California Supreme Court denied his request for a rehearing on September 7, 2006. He had appeals pending until the time of his death.
