Life before Fame
Christina Weiss Lurie was born as Lori Weiss in Mexico City, New Mexico. Lurie changed her name to Christina to avoid awkwardness after she married Jeffrey Lurie. She is a daughter of mother Lisa Weiss and father Stanley Weiss. She grew up alongside her brother Anthony. Although born in Mexico she grew up in London after she moved when she was 10 years old. Amazingly she holds two citizenship of Mexico and the US.
She attended Yale University and graduated with a double degree, major in theater and history of art. Later she continued her study at the Webber Douglas Academy where she studied dramatic art. However, since she wanted to pursue her career Christina dropped out and moved to Paris. As a early phase of her career, she worked for Ron Molder managing his movie company that produced I love you to death in 1990.
Conjugal life with Jeffrey Lurie
Christiana Weiss married billionaire Jeffrey Lurie in Gstaad, Switzerland, in 1992. She met Jeffrey during the shoot of the 1990 comedy movie I love you to death featuring Keanu Reeves, and Rain Phoenix brother of River Phoenix. Additionally, he was the co-producer of the movie. After dating for a couple of years they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony.
However, despite being married for over 20 years they parted their ways in July 2012. The couple had an ongoing dispute on their marriage due to which they decided to divorce with mutual consent like matured individuals. Christiana filed for the divorce and call it to be “amicable”. Currently, they are still in touch and remained close friends sharing partnerships in the NFL team Philadephia eagles.
Subsequently, after their divorce, her family friend and lawyer Dave Kaplan opened the reason behind the separation. He told them they were different from each other in thinking style and added they should not have married at first.
