He began his career as “Billy Jack” in the territory of the Pacific Northwest. Before making a successful run at the NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship in 1984, he had a prolonged feud with Rip Oliver. In that match, he defeated Kendo Nagasaki in a match that followed.
In 1988, Haynes made his way back to Oregon, where he participated in independent wrestling matches and established the Oregon Wrestling Federation. After Haynes made a mask-wearing appearance in World Championship Wrestling as Black Blood in Kevin Sullivan’s stable in May 1991, he made a comeback to big promotions.
His return to professional wrestling began in June 1994, when he participated in events co-sponsored by Mexico’s Asistencia Asesoría y Administración and the PNW’s successor, Championship Wrestling USA, in Vancouver, Washington. In 1995, he made his next appearance in the US Wrestling Association, and he retired at the beginning of 1996.
