After this, in April 2017, he was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers initially for a temporary period. Seeing his great performance and wins, he has now been signed with them for the remainder of the season.

Alex Poythress signed a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers on the 22nd of August, 2017. Later in 2018, this player again signed a contract with Atlanta Hawks.
