In 1996, Doris Burke began working in the same role for Big East Men’s games. She became the lead analyst for ESPN’s coverage of the WNBA in the same year. In 1997, Burke became the primary radio and TV voice of New York Liberty.
In 2000, Doris Burke became a color analyst for the New York Knicks games on radio and TV. She was the first woman to be a color analyst for radio and TV. She also became the first woman analyst for Big East Men’s games.
In 2003, she was listed as the top 10 ESPN Men’s Basketball Team sideline reporter for ESPN and ABC for their coverage of the NBA.
In 2003, Doris Burke won the USA Today Rudy Award for the Best New Face in Sports Television. She started working as a sideline reporter for the NBA finals for ABC Sports in 2009.
In 2010, she became the sideline reporter for 2K Sports and NBA 2K11 video games. In October 2013, Burke signed a contract to work as an NBA commentator for ESPN.
