Jerome Silberman, known professionally as Gene Wilder, was an American actor, director, producer, screenwriter, singer-songwriter, and author. He was an Illustrious actor who obtained an Oscar for his first major film performance in The Producers and characterized Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
He also performed in Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. In 1962, he won the Clarence Derwent Award for the Broadway play “The Complaisant Lover” He is also Primetime Emmy Award winner.

Gene Wilder inaugurated his movie career in 1967’s Bonnie and Clyde, however, he grew famous as a favorite of writer/director Mel Brooks. His outstanding roles in films such as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles earned him a memorable comedy icon.
